# Garmin Approach R50 Connection Guide

<h2 align="center">GSPro + Garmin Approach R50</h2>

The following guide outlines how to get your Garmin R50 working with GSPro.

The Garmin Approach R50 can connect to GSPro in two ways:

* Direct connection via the R50’s “hotspot” WFi.&#x20;
  * **This is the recommended way.**&#x20;
  * Your WiFi internet connection will pass through the R50, meaning you will still have internet access even when connected to the R50
* Utilizing the general home/shared WiFi network

### **Existing GSPro Users:**

* Once completed, it is recommended that you force GSPro to redownload the latest version make sure you have the most up to date version that supports the Garmin R50

### **New GSPro Users:**

* Navigate to the GSPro website and select “BUY”
* Select the Garmin R50 from the dropdown options

* Complete the purchase
* Once you receive the email, download and install GSPro

### **Garmin R50 Setup:**

* R50 Hot Spot Connection (recommended)
  1. On the R50 main menu, swipe to the right to the “Connect” option

  2. Select GSPro

  3. You will be presented with WiFi network details. On the GSPro PC, switch the WiFi network to the R50 network. **The R50 passes through the internet, so you will still have internet access after connecting**

  4. You are now ready to move the the “Start GSPro” section
* R50 home network WiFi
  1. Although this option is technically easier to setup, it has the potential to be less reliable due to unknown WiFi network conditions and settings

### **Start GSPro:**

* You are now ready to start GSPro
* Double click the GSPro Launcher on the Desktop. It is the golf ball icon
* If asked, Agree to the terms of service
* Once GSPro full starts, enter your license key if asked
* The GSPro Connect application will open with the Garmin R50 option showing

* Click the blue “Garmin R10” button
* GSPro Connect will automatically find and connect to your R50

* Head to the main GSPro application and begin to play!

**Important Notes:** Once you are connected via the GSPro Connect application, do not close the application. You can minimize GSPro Connect, but do not hit the X/close button
