# Players (Settings)

Welcome to the Players Settings tab. Here, you can create up to one thousand unique players, manage their specific settings, and link them to supported tools.

## Adding A Player

To create a new player in GSPro, click on the small “Plus” found in the bottom left corner of the screen. Each player is then offered three separate tabs of customization: ***Information***, ***Golf Bag***, **and *****Operation 36***.

### **Information**

In this tab, you can customize the majority of the information tied to the selected player with some additional in-game preferences.

1. **Player Name**: Enter the name you’d wish to see displayed in game for this player. **(SGT Members: Use the exact spelling of your SGT account)**
2. **SGT ID**: This is a verification ID for Simulator Golf Tour members. (You can find more information on where to find your SGT ID here: [SGT Account](/gspro-knowledge-base/tournaments-main-menu/sgt-account.md))
3. **Email Address**: Use the same email address used when you purchased GSPro. This would be the email associated with your license. (This helps sync data to the Online Portal)
4. **Handicap**: The handicap slider is used while in game locally with friends (or online) during non-tournament (SGT) events. Use your own discretion here. Remember it is Golf, a game of integrity. When setting up your round, this is the handicap used when calculating your net score.
 1. **Slider:** Utilize the slider to manually adjust and hold your player’s handicap.
 2. **GSPro Handicap:** Select this option for GSPro to automatically calculate/adjust your handicap over time while playing. (The automatic handicap will utilize your best 6 of the latest 30 18 hole rounds played in its calculation)
5. **Handedness**: Change/set the handedness of the player to right or left.
6. **Mini Map Location**: This preference will change the in game mini map to the right or left side of the screen for the specific player. (Global will except the global location within the Game Settings or the position set by default by the course designer on certain courses)
7. **Realism**: Global will accept the setting from round Match Settings. Custom allows for the configuration of surface penalties (rough, deep rough, etc) as well as power boosts. Full Curvature is exactly what the launch monitor sends to GSPro. From there, it can be gradually adjusted down to a fully Reduced level that lowers the impact spin has on a given shot.

***NOTE:** Realism is worth dedicating time to experiment with the settings on the range. This approach helps you discover which adjustments best suit you or any guest players who might be new to golf or seeking a more enjoyable learning experience. It is certainly a setting that can make a new golfer have a better experience against a more skilled player.*

### **Golf Bag**

Bag mapping is done for each player individually. There are two modes available here: “Manual Entry”, and “Bag Mapping Session”. Before looking at each option, use the drop down arrows next to each club to select the clubs you want to use in your bag.

1. **Manual Mapping:** Here, you are free to simply fill out the yardages for each club. Keep in mind this is TOTAL yardage, not carry. These yardages will be used in game to attempt to auto-select your club for you in the lower-left in the game interface. (Depending on which launch monitor you utilize, the club selector may not be used)
2. **Mapping Session:** If you would like to use your actual yardages, similar to a club fitting session, click the “Start Bag Mapping” button. Start by pressing the “Begin” button. You will be asked to take 5 shots with each club. You will have the option to delete the last shot taken before hitting again. This allows for you to remove mishits like the dredged shank. Once all shots have been taken for a specific club, GSPro will take an average and assign the number as your yardage.

{% hint style="warning" icon="golf-flag-hole" %}
***NOTE:*** When either option is complete, always make sure to click “Apply Updates”. (If you don’t like your changes and want to refresh the bag, click “Reset to Defaults”)\
\
***Mapping Session:*** In order for the yardages to be saved for a Mapping Session, be sure to complete the entire mapping session.

3. **Bag Locker:** Lastly, there is a “Bag Locker” in which you can create different bag presets depending on your needs. By selecting "Open Bag Locker", you can save the above shown bag to a custom name or load a previously saved bag by selecting it in the shown dropdown menu and pressing "Load".

### **Operation 36**

This partnership provides golfers of all levels the opportunity to learn how to play golf using this proven methodology. The idea is to shoot Par (36 strokes) in 9 holes of golf. This is accomplished by starting from short distances to longer distances. The Operation36 roadmap is outlined with GSPro so you and any level of golfer can reap the rewards of this time proven learning tool.

In this tab, users can view your current progress through different “levels”.
