# Game (Settings)

The Game Settings tab will contain a large variety of in-game settings that will effect a global item of play in GSPro. In addition, other non in-game primary functions will be found here.

## Game:

**Units:** This setting changes your global measurement from either Metric or Imperial.

**Altitude/Elevation:** You can set the elevation in GSPro to your preferred number. For the most accurate data, set this number to the same elevation as your real time sim space or to the elevation you've custom set in a third party software connected to GSPro if applicable such as View from Uneekor or ProTee Labs from ProTee for example.

**MiniMap Location:** Can be set to either lower LEFT or lower RIGHT.

**Player Rotation Style:** There are 3 distinct setting here:

* Classic - Play the hole in the normal rotation, furthest from the hole goes next
* Play Out Hole - Simple enough, each player will play the entire hole to completion before the next player in rotation.
* Putt Out - Each player will retain priority to take their next shot until on the green. Once a player lands on the green, the next player in order will then do the same. Once all players have reached the green, the furthest putt away will begin until all players putt out. (Following the Classic rotation on the green of furthest out first)

**Enable Ghost Play:** When enabled, you are able to save matches as Ghost matches that can later be played against locally as well as add Ghost players to your Local Match.

**Auto Putt Fixed Distances:** With these two boxes, you can manually adjust the Auto Putt Fixed One and Two score circles to your desired distances.

**Launch Monitor Carry:** By default, this setting is set as disabled and should remain as disabled unless very specific requirements require otherwise.

## **Realism:**

**Realism:** These settings allow you to adjust how forgiving GSPro Plays. There are various settings for how much side spin effects your ball flight (hooks and slices), how terrain penalties effect your ball (deep rough, etc) as well as distances (power boosting).

**Ball Shape / Curvature:** (SLIDER) from “Restricted -to- “Full”. This slider effects how the ball spin reported by the Launch Monitor actually effects the flight of the ball. Full is the default setting and is the most realistic. Restricted will reduce the effect of side spin the most. Sliding the setting will allow you to adjust the setting to the desired sweet spot.

**Play Mode:**

* **Realistic:** This is the default setting which uses the all the launch monitor data and uses GSPro ball flight algorithms.
* **Casual:** Allows for some “Boost” in power to be added to the shots taken. You can limit the shot boost to driver only if desired. This slider is adjustable from “None” through “2x”.

## System:

**Course Folder:** This defaults the Courses folder location in the GSPro installation location (C:\gsprov1\core\gspro\courses\\). If you have an alternate location you'd wish to store your course folder, you can move the location to your other drives with this guide: [How To Move Course Folder](/gspro-knowledge-base/setup-and-installation/how-to-move-course-folder.md)

**Control Type:** This allows you to switch between “Simulator” and “Mouse”. Simulator will populate your Connect option and allow play through a launch monitor, while Mouse will allow you to play GSPro with nothing but a mouse and keyboard.

**On Screen Keyboard (Beta):** When enabled, a built in keyboard will pop up each time a field is selected that would require typing. (Allowing mouse only or touch screen users to type without the use of a physical keyboard)

**Activate Course Server:** If you’ve been given a course server from a course designer, you will include it to your existing library of course libraries here.

**Clear Cache:** GSPro has an internal cache that stores game, course and system data. There are times when this cache needs to be cleared. For example, when you load up a new version of a course manually. Clearing the cache will ‘clear’ out any stored information of the old course with the same name and force the system to load up the new version you just installed.

**Reload Courses:** GSPro checks and loads all courses in the course folder during startup. If by chance you added another course manually or added another course server to your list, you can force GSPRo to reload without having to restart the entire application.

**Reset GSPro Connect:** In the event your Connect application fails to launch or is closed out of accidentally, selecting this button will trigger GSPro to relaunch the Connect application without the need of restarting GSPro completely.

**Download Latest Stable:** By default, GSPro is set to the "Latest Stable" version. If you believe your version of GSPro is dated or if you'd like to move back into the Latest Stable from the Public Beta, selecting this option will force GSPro to download the Latest Stable version the next time the application is launched.

**Download Public Beta:** As our engineering team creates new updates for GSPro, we push groups of those updates to our Public Beta version for users to test and try out before they reach the Latest Stable version. If you'd like to test these updates before they reach the Latest Stable version, select this option to download the Public Beta version.

## Sounds:

**GSPro Sounds**: This slider will change the volume of in game sounds such as the ball landing on the ground, the ball falling into the hole, and more sounds included directly in GSPro.

**Course Sounds:** This slider will change the volume for course specific sounds such as wind, birds, flies, and more. (In general, most of the sounds you’ll hear in ambience while on course are specifically picked out and added by the course designer, so sounds may vary between courses)

**Menu Sounds:** This slider will change the volume for menu sounds such as the menu music, and interactive clicking above buttons.

**Master:** This slider will change the total volume for all sounds in GSPro.

**Ball Ready Sound Alert:** When enabled, a chime will be triggered each time your connected launch monitor sends the ready signal.
